Changing the world one smile at a time

Updated: Mar 18

Established by the United Nations, 20 March is recognised as the International Day of Happiness.

We are all part of a global family with a shared purpose; to achieve happiness in our own lives and in the lives of people around the world.

As we continue to navigate the impact of the global pandemic and tackle important social issues such as inequality, poverty, education, healthcare and the climate crisis, the need for a more caring and inclusive society is on our radar like never before.

Urgent change is needed now, and the responsibility is no longer just down to Government. Businesses and individuals are driving the way we work, think, lead and act.

When we launched Outsourced imagination, we understood the importance of happiness and nurturing and an environment where people thrive naturally. Our philosophy:

Kinder business = kinder people Kinder people = kinder decisions

Kinder decisions = kinder impact on the world

Happiness plays an important role in the achievements of humanity, so how can we use it today to positively impact ourselves and each other?

Here are our top 10 favourite ways to make people smile — and yourself happier!

1. Give a genuine compliment

2. Be present and listen fully

3. Offer words of encouragement

4. Smile at EVERYONE you meet

5. Just be yourself (it inspires others)

6. Make a donation to charity

7. Reach out to someone you haven't spoken to in a while

8. Do an act of kindness

9. Pay it forward

10. Every time you pass a mirror, smile at yourself

Wishing you a wonderful International Day of Happiness.
